Quiz #1 Solutions
Hi All,
I promised to put the solutions to the first quiz on-line at some point. Sinisa made a photocopy of someone's quiz that he thought was particularly well done, so I just scanned it in and posted it.

Final Project: Installing LaTeX
Folks,
Once again I find myself looking for a decent document processing system. I drifted away from LaTeX/AUCTeX since my doctorate days, mainly due to the "ease of use" of Word, and also due to the need to exchange Word files with colleagues.
Well no more!
I am moving back to LaTeX/AUCTeX/Emacs in a big hurry. Many reasons why, but mainly because I am tied of crashes and proprietary formats. Also, nothing useful beats LaTeX for references, citations, and portability across computer platforms.
Give LaTeX a try for your final project. You can find some detailed instructions on how to install a working system under Windows NT/XP HERE. As much as I like Linux (Ubuntu 7.10 at the moment) I have to admit that MikTeX 2.7(beta) plus either WinEDT or Emacs gives you the best LaTeX set-up going right now. If you disagree, let me know if you have a better combination!
